get started with the essentials.
Ingredients:
• Beeswax
• Essential
oils
Two ingredients????
Yes you
read it right. You just need two ingredients that are beeswax and essential oils
to make Vaseline. Creating Vaseline at home is very simple.
You will
also need a pot or two, a wooden spatula and a bottle or a jar to preserve your
home made product.
Got everything
needed?
So let
us start with the actual procedure.
Grate
the beeswax or you can cut it into small pieces approximately 30 grams will be
enough for our first batch. Beeswax is a natural product and has many benefits
to our skin. It is used in the production of cosmetic products due to its high
moisturizing properties, so using Vaseline which contains beeswax as a main
ingredient is a wise choice for your skin problems.
Place 200 cl of essential oil in a small
saucepan. It can be olive or any essential oil of your choice sweet almond oil
is the best as it is best for the sensitive skin and it has skin benefits like
anti aging.
Boil
the essential oil by double boiler method. Do not forget we need to heat it on
low heat also make sure the temperature is even.
As
the oil warms, add the grated or the tiny pieces of beeswax and stir slowly
until it makes a homogeneous mixture. Once completely dissovled your Vaseline is
almost ready. Cut the heat and let it cool down for a bit. Now take the mixture
out from the pot and place it in a glass container or any other jar which you
are going to store your Vaseline into. Allow this solution to cool and you will
get a creamy mixture and you are ready to go! Congratulations!! You made your
DIY Vaseline at home..
You can use this Vaseline as a lip balm or can combine it with your daily skin creams
such as hands and foot cream. Replace this DIY product with your Vaseline and enjoy
all the benefits of Vaseline as you would from a market product. Now you can achieve smooth and healthy skin at home in all seasons.
